Feel the power of light on your own skin! At the Łaźnia Center for Contemporary Art, you can experience extraordinary impressions thanks to an immersive great installation, designed by a contemporary artist, Karolina Hałatek. "Ascent", because this is the title of the project, is a magical, pipe installation, entirely based on LED lights, takes the audience into a sensual world of sensations.
Karolina Hałatek has created a work that delights with its simplicity and ascetic form. However, don't be fooled by the delicacy of the structure. A winding form that surrounds the participants with a sensual cyclone, and the whole effect is enhanced by delicate clouds of fog. Thanks to the presence of a human being, the spiral turns into a dynamic, lively space that allows you to discover a new perception of reality.
The viewer can experience lighting effects that set spatial trends first-hand. Vibrating LED light and floating fog allow for physical and spiritual sensations. Ascent takes the viewer into a new reality, full of dynamics and sensual physical and spiritual experiences. The installation is the essence of how beautiful and unique elements of space can be created by light. Moving the LED strips into the artistic space puts light in the first place. It is no longer just an interior accessory, but an interior in itself. Uniform light, full of energy and perfection, creates an unprecedented space and allows the viewer to experience light in a completely different form. The key to this project was to create a lighting installation that would be durable, yet sensual and delicate. Therefore, the choice could only fall on Neonica products.
The author of the installation, Karolina Kałatek, is a contemporary artist whose main subject of creativity is light. Like no one else, he sees the mystical connection between the visual and metaphysical realms that light gives. Her works are interdisciplinary projects on the border of architecture, design and technology, as evidenced by the presented "Ascent". She graduated from the University of the Arts London, the Design for Performance Department and the Media Art Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, which she graduated with honors. She also studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Universität der Künste in Berlin, where she participated in workshops at the Institut für Raumexperimente under the direction of Olafur Eliasson. She is also a laureate of many awards and a scholarship from the Minister of Culture. We are glad that we were able to support Karolina in creating this unique work and we contributed to the creation of the work of art.

The Ascent installation is presented at the Łaźnia Center for Contemporary Art as part of the exhibition "Sensoria. Art and science of our senses", curated by Nina Czegledy.
The exhibition is open until October 30, 2022.
